True to my word in a literal sense, I feel nothing conveys true emotion like the structuring of language. I’ve listened to hip-hop as far back as I can remember and have been writing since I was about 14. From rapping to beatmaking and production, I began to write stories for a few years and realized that music was where I needed to be. Unfortunately close minded, 99% of what I listened to was hip-hop all my life until I started to branch out to other things. Ironically, I seldom listen to hip-hop now because of how shitty it’s become over the years with the exception to few who can still do it like it was meant to be done.
Now I do something few people out there actually can say they do: write from the heart. Every syllable, every word, and every bar has meaning. There are no fillers, no fabrications. I’m now making the greatest music I can say I’ve ever worked on with my band Never Been Born (which you’ll hear from soon!) and we’re poised for world domination because music just isn’t the same anymore. I never fathomed the thought of making it in music (let alone even pursuing it) but now I do. The only thing is, I can’t tell if it’s because I’m that good or because there’s no one with skill left to compete with.
Along with the I’m Gonna Die a Poet family, our success can only be measured as far as our imagination is conceived. So whether through a simple blog, poem or verse, this is my life as I pour my thoughts down.
Hopefully you don’t drown…
